Dr. Asher Hasan is a 2009 member of the Clinton Global Initiative, a TED Fellow and a Draper Richards Social Entrepreneur Fellow for 2009-2011. In addition, Naya Jeevan and he are the recipients of a $75,000 1st prize in the 2008 NYU Social Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition. Prior to launching Naya Jeevan, Dr. Hasan served in the capacity of Senior Director of the US Medical Affairs Obesity team for Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. During his tenure in the biopharmaceutical industry, Dr. Hasan also completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from New York University’s Stern School of Business. |

Zulfi is a born-again entrepreneur. In 2002 he left behind a very successful and lucrative career in corporate America to start a technology company, a medical diagnostics company, and a hospitality company with a portfolio of mid-market hotels. In his new life, he has been a key member of the business development activities in healthcare/IT related projects across various enterprises including diagnostics services. He has directed business aspects of selling networking and various IT products through direct internet and catalog channels. Zulfi has acquired and supported major new customers including several Fortune 500 companies and assisted in formulation and expansion of strategies for both service and marketing. In his former life, he had made his mark as a marketing and finance professional with a 15+ year outstanding track record of achieving growth and profitability. Corporations he worked at include GE Capital where he was a Director of Financial Services from 1998-2002, Perrier Group of America where he served as a Director of Finance from 1995-1998 and Xerox where managed a Credit Division from 1989-1995. Zulfi was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan till the age of 13 at which time he came to Schenectady, New York in 1975 as an exchange student (AFS Program) and completed High School in 1979 while living with American families as part of the exchange program. He earned his BA in Accounting from the University of Buffalo, along with playing college basketball and went on to complete his MBA in Finance from Pace University.

Saad Amanullah Khan joined Gillette Pakistan in March 2007 as Chief Executive Officer. Before joining Gillette, Saad has worked in P&G for 20 years with assignments in Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. In P&G his last assignment was Deputy General Manager and Finance Manager P&G Pakistan. Saad graduated from the University of Michigan MBA graduate program in May 1987. Saad has two engineering degrees, both from University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Saad is active on the social responsibility front and is the founding member of the Agha Khan's Patient Welfare Committee. He also is the President and founder of Helpers of HOPE, a committee to collect fund for the NGO called Health Oriented Preventive Education (HOPE). In this NGO they currently runs 2 hospitals, 2 formal and 96 information schools plus multiple Maternity & Health centers in Karachi and lower Sind impoverished areas. Conceptualized, led and delivered Rs 1 billion from USAID to the Bolton Market victims in a total efficient and transparent form. Among other activities Saad is an active member of the American Business Council (ABC), currently its Vice President as well as the Chairman of the Taxation Sub-committee. He has also held the Vice Chairman of the Taxation Committee of Overseas Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) for 2 years.

Kalsoom Lakhani is director of Social Vision, the venture philanthropy arm of ML Resources, LLC, a private investment firm based in Washington, D.C. Social Vision provides seed grants and hands-on support for social enterprises and innovative initiatives in their start-up stages, mainly in Pakistan. Kalsoom is a managing editor and helped launch Think Change-Pakistan, a blog that tracks the social entrepreneurship and innovation space in the country. She also founded and runs the popular blog, CHUP, or Changing Up Pakistan, which was established in January 2008 and aims to raise awareness on the issues affecting Pakistan through news analysis, interviews, and contributions by young Pakistanis. She has written for the Washington Post, the Huffington Post, Foreign Policy, and Pakistan's Dawn Newspaper. Prior to her work at ML Resources, she was a senior analyst at Lincoln Group, LLC, a strategic communications firm based in Washington, D.C. Kalsoom received an M.A. in International Affairs/Conflict Resolution from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, and a B.A. in Foreign Affairs and Middle East Studies from the University of Virginia.
